Hof Ter Leeuwe was founded by Erik Degeneffe. It is a genuine family business with more than 30 years of experience. Son Wim and his wife Berdien share the genuine passion for horses and today hold the reins.
Hof Ter Leeuwe is synonymous with a secure, results-oriented approach combined with a focus on innovation and respect for the animal.
In 2022, we opened the doors of our new equine complex. We have all the facilities to examine, treat, guide and stay your horse securely and safely. Among other things, we have an ebb and flow arena, outdoor paddocks, grazing pastures with shelter and high-quality hay. Our healthy population of carrier mares is housed in spacious run pens with outdoor runs.
The team at Hof Ter Leeuwe has consisted of 4 veterinarians since 2023. This allows us to maintain continuity in our service throughout the year.
After studying veterinary medicine, Erik worked for a long time in a cattle practice. But horses were and are Erik's great passion. In '93 he founded Hof Ter Leeuwe. Innovation is a common thread. From offering ultrasounds, to freezing semen and embryo transfers, Erik was always one of the pioneers.

Like father Erik, Wim has a genuine passion for horses. As a brood boy, he helped out during school vacations and after studying veterinary medicine, he followed in his father's footsteps. Wim specialized in horse reproduction.

After studying veterinary medicine, Berdien learned the tricks of the trade in an ambulatory cattle practice. As Wim's partner, she often helped out at Hof Ter Leeuwe during peak times. Not much later, she started working there full time. Berdien plays a crucial role in the execution of OPU, ICSI and embryo transplantations.

Marieke has been a big animal lover since childhood. She also got her interest in science from her mom who is a professor of physiology. She started horseback riding at age 13 and after studying veterinary medicine she immediately started working with horses. By the way, at home she also has a whole herd of alpacas.
